Born on the 24th April, 1959 to the families of Pa Jimoh Yussuf and Madam Salamot Yussuf (Nee Babatunde Osibona) both indigenes of Ikorodu, Adebola began his educational career at Local Authority Primary School, Ikorodu in 1965 and came out with a Distinction Grade in his First School Leaving Certificate Examinations in 1970 and proceeded to Oriwu College [now Oriwu Model College], Ikorodu in 1972 where he obtained his West African Examinations Council Certificate in June, 1976.
He later preceeded to Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye [now Olabisi Onabanjo University] where he obtained his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Banking and Finance. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria [FCA], an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Nigeria [ACTI] and a Member of the Institute of Management (Chartered) of Nigeria [AMNIM].
Between 1976 and 1991, he had worked in both Public and Private Sectors including the then Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, National Bank of Nigeria Plc., Crysterlight Overseas Agency Limited and Mai-Sango & Sons Limited where he rose to the position of a Group Accountant. He was articled to Messrs C.O. Olomo & Co. and Babs Salami & Co (both firms of Chartered Accountants) where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in May, 1991.
He joined the Local Government Service in November, 1991 and rose to the peak of his career at the Local Government Service as a Council Treasurer. He received the “Best Performed Treasurer Award” among the six City Treasurers in Ikorodu and its Environs in Year 2004.
He was deployed to the Mainstream of the State Civil Service in April, 2006. Between years 2006 and now, he was the Internal Auditor, Teachers’ Establishment & Pensions Office (TEPO), Project Internal Auditor of Lagos Metropolitan Development and Governance Project (LMDGP)/Internal Audit Coordinator of the Project Financial Management Unit (PFMU) of the State Treasury Office (STO). He was Director of Accounts, Lagos State Office of the Surveyor General, Director of Accounts, State Treasury Office and presently Director of Accounts, Lagos State Civil Service Commission.
Adebola, a Rotarian, loves reading, travelling, playing music, footballing, playing table-tennis.
He is married and blessed with children.
