MINISTERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Civil Service Commission carries out its functions and ministerial responsibilities in strict compliance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Lagos State Civil Service Commission Law, Public Service Rules, Schemes of Service and other relevant Extant Circulars.

The Mandates Include:

  1.           Recruitment and Selection of the Civil Service including Parastatals;
  2. Appointment, Promotion and acting Appointment of Civil Servants;
  3.            Disciplinary control in the Civil Service;
  4.            Retirement and Exit of Civil Officers;
  5.            Protection of Pension benefits;
  6.            Issuance of Service Regulations;
  7. Promotion of good governance, ethics and integrity in the Public Service in accordance with the provisions of the Public Service Ethics and Code of Conduct;
  8.            Human Resource Audit in the Public Service including Local Authorities;
  9.            Administration of Civil Service Examinations and occupational tests;
  10.            Any other duty as may be assigned by the Governor.
